WIENER AKTIONISMUS MUSEUM

Founded in December 2023, the Vienna Actionism Museum is dedicated to the international relevance and artistic legacy of Viennese Actionism – a movement whose influence resonates far beyond the borders of Vienna to this day.

Initiated by Reza Akhavan and Daniel Jelitzka in close cooperation with private collectors, the project pursues a clear goal: to secure the Friedrichshof Collection – one of the most prominent collections of this important art movement – for the long term and make it accessible to the public. The museum presents key works by Günter Brus, Otto Muehl, Hermann Nitsch, and Rudolf Schwarzkogler in annually changing exhibitions – bringing this remarkable chapter of Austrian art to life for visitors.
